Take Action
We can all fight fraud together by exposing con artists and fraudsters. If you have been the victim of a fraud take these steps in this order:
- tell your local law enforcement agency
(usually, the local police agency responding to emergency calls in your area) - file an e-report with your national reporting center
(www.IC3.gov - USA or www.recol.ca - Canada) - tell Fraud Squad TV
Reporting fraud on all three levels may prevent people from being victimized. Don't be embarrassed about being "taken". No amount of money lost is too small to matter. Education is the best tool for fraud prevention.
Are you, or someone you know, the victim of a fraud?
Please be sure that you have reported the events of your victimization to law enforcement and reporting agencies.
Consult the Fraud Library. Is there a fraud described that is similar to what happened to you?
