Privacy Policy

Fraud Squad TV Inc. and FSTV Web TV Inc. (collectively, "Fraud Squad", "we", "us", "our") are committed to preserving and safeguarding your right to privacy. As part of this commitment, we have developed this Privacy Policy to describe the manner in which we will collect, use, disclose and otherwise manage the personal information you provide us through our website located at www.fraudsquadtv.ca (the "Website") as well as through other activities, such as mail or telephone communications.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

We collect personal information that you provide us when you:

  • Submit material via our Website, customer service telephone line, or other written submission;
  • Participate in interactive features of the Website, such as our public forum or blogs;
  • Subscribe to our newsletter or other communications via e-mail or regular mail;
  • Enter into a contest or sweepstakes; or
  • Contact our customer service department with a comment or question or provide feedback or suggestions.

Submissions: Fraud Squad enables you to report your story as a victim of fraud through our Website, by calling our customer service telephone line or by written submission. When you submit your story online, we collect personal information such as your first name, last name, e-mail address, and country of residence. We also collect a description of your experience that you provide, the type of fraud you experienced as well as the place where the fraud occurred. We only use this information to assess your story for possible broadcast, web or newsletter publishing. We will not broadcast or publish your story without your express written consent.

Public Forum: When you post comments or subscribe to a public forum or blog, we may collect personal information such as your first name, last name and email address. We may also collect any comments, suggestions and other feedback you provide through e-mail or as postings to our public forums or blogs.

Newsletter: When you sign up to receive our newsletter or other communications via e-mail or regular mail, we collect your first name, last name, e-mail address and/or mailing address (depending on method of delivery) in order to process your request. We collect this information in order to identify who you are and to provide you with the service you requested. You may remove yourself from our electronic newsletter mailing list by clicking the "unsubscribe" button that appears at the bottom of our e-mails. You may also remove your self from our electronic or regular newsletter mailing list by contacting us as set out in the "How to Contact Us" section below.

Promotions or Surveys: When you enter a contest or sweepstakes ("promotion") or participate in a survey or poll ("survey") we may ask you to provide your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. We use the information we collect on promotion entry forms to administer your participation in the promotions and for other purposes stated on the entry form. Our surveys ask for opinions on various issues and may be sponsored by our advertisers and partners. Most information obtained through surveys is aggregated and used internally. We may share survey information with advertisers, sponsors and marketing partners in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable form. In the event personal information is requested as part of a survey, such personal information is never provided to unaffiliated third parties without your consent.

Customer Service: When you call one of our customer service representatives, or e-mail us with a comment or question, you may be asked for information that identifies you, such as your name, address and telephone number. We use this information to help us promptly answer your question and we may retain this information to assist you in the future. We also may use your feedback, suggestions and comments to monitor and/or improve our Website.

Website Information: Generally, you can visit our Website without telling us who you are or providing us with any personal information. We collect the IP (Internet protocol) addresses of all visitors to our Website and clickstream and other related information such as page requests, browser type, operating system and average time spent on our websites. We use this information to monitor and improve our Website.

Cookies: We collect "cookie" information from your browser to identify your computer and provide us with a record of your visits to our Website. The technology used to gather "cookie" information is provided by the Internet browser you use, and may be turned off by using your browser preference buttons (collectively, the foregoing is referred to as "Usage Data"). Web Beacons: Our Website may also use small pieces of software code called "web beacons" or "clear gifs" to collect anonymous and aggregate advertising matrix, such as counting page views, promotion views, or advertising responses. A web beacon is an electronic image called a single-pixel or clear GIF. Web beacons can recognise certain types of information, such as a user’s cookie number, time and date of a page view, and description of the page where the web beacon is placed. You may render some web beacons unusable if you choose to reject their associated cookies. These web beacons may be used to deliver cookies that conform with our cookie policy above.

The Website may include links to third party websites. The inclusion of any link does not imply our endorsement of any other company, its websites, or its products and/or services. These third parties have separate and independent privacy policies, which we recommend you read carefully. Any personal information you share with these third parties through their websites will be administered under their privacy policies. We have no control over third party websites and therefore have no responsibility or liability for the manner in which such third parties may collect, use or disclose and otherwise treat your personal information.

The Website may also contain advertisements for our sponsors. This Privacy Policy does not cover any use of information that such third parties may have collected from you or the methods used by the third-parties to collect that information (e.g., cookies, web beacons and clear gifs).

Security of Personal Information

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards in an effort to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure of personal information in our custody and control. We have implemented measures in an effort to maintain the confidentiality of all personal information in our custody and control, including only providing access to personal information to employees and authorized service providers who require such information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it remains necessary or relevant for the purposes stated above or as otherwise required by law.

To provide you with increased online security, access to your personal information may be protected by a user name and/or password. We strongly recommend that you do not disclose your password to anyone.
